I stumbled over these words in Douglas McKelvey’s book, “Every Moment Holy” (a book of prayers that I cannot recommend enough!)
.
These words on doubt have swirled around in my mind this past week, so much so, that I started to replace “doubt” with a lot of other struggles that we can be tempted to believe will remove God’s love for us as we wrestle through them.
.
The good news? His love cannot be undone. Not my my feelings, not by my wrestling. In fact, the wrestling is good— through it He teaches my heart to align with the truth. As the rest of the prayer says:
“In your presence I can offer my questions, knowing you are never threatened by my uncertainties. They do not change your truth. My doubts cannot unseat your promises.”

I hope these words bring you comfort this week in knowing that even in the wrestling, you are lovingly held.
